Hellraiser: Revival Demo Locker Codes & Puzzle Solutions
The Steam demo is one long, linear slice of the opening: about an hour if you do not die, longer if you read every note. Almost everyone who gets stuck gets stuck on the same four things below. An answer is marked confirmed only when at least two independent players report the same solution; the one code with a single source says so.
Locker and puzzle answers at a glance
| Where | What you need | Answer | Confirmed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bathroom locker | 4-digit code | 9891 | Top answer on r/hellraiserthegame “Demo Locker Codes?” thread; TerabyteTerry’s “Bathroom Locker Code 9891” video |
| Painting puzzle locker | 4-digit code | 9901 (one source so far) | TerabyteTerry’s “Painting Puzzle Solution” video |
| Office with the large window | Item for the red door | Tongue Key from the 4-nail skull | German-language Steam forum answer; TerabyteTerry’s “4-Nail Skull Puzzle” video |
| Raised door after the platform | Getting through before it shuts | Wait on the platform until the door is fully open, then run | Steam forum “Sprint” thread |
The bathroom locker: 9891
The note with this code is not a note. In the same room as the locker there is a woman in a bathtub with a tattoo; the four digits are in that tattoo. Players on the official subreddit spent a long time hunting for a paper clue before one posted “Check the girl with the tattoo in the same room”, which is the answer every later guide repeats.
- Code: 9 8 9 1
- If it does not open, make sure you are at the bathroom locker and not the second locker in the area (the original poster thought it was “either the second or third locker”).
The painting puzzle locker: 9901
This one is tied to the paintings of Marlowe, the Scarlet Church’s leader, and the Prophet. Study them, and the locker nearby is reported to take 9 9 0 1. So far only one guide video gives this number (The Gamers Cafe’s all-codes video shows a “Second Locker” but we could not read its code), so treat 9901 as unconfirmed: if it fails, the paintings themselves are the clue. Saber’s September 21 patch did fix “incorrect tutorial hints”, so a hint that pointed you somewhere else may simply have been wrong.
The 4-nail skull and the Tongue Key
In the office with the big window, where a woman is being tortured on the other side of the glass, there is a large red door you cannot open. You need an item from the same room:
- Pick up the skull with nails driven into it from the desk.
- Inspect it and press the four nails in the correct order.
- The skull gives up the Tongue Key. Use it on the red door.
The correct order is shown on screen in TerabyteTerry’s short “4-Nail Skull Puzzle Solution” clip; we do not print an order we could not confirm from a second source. If you are stuck, try the nails one at a time and watch for which one stays down.
This is also the kind of puzzle the developers describe for the full game: in their words you will “locate specific key items, solve puzzles, manipulate the configuration” to move forward, and one statue puzzle has you return a missing tongue or hand before reshaping the box into a key.
Bruno’s keycard
The Gamers Cafe’s all-codes video starts with Bruno’s Keycard before the two lockers. Bruno is one of the game’s human villains (the Hellraiser fan wiki describes him as a sadistic artist). A keycard is an item, not a code, so if you are wandering, search for it before you go looking for numbers.
The door that keeps closing
A common early snag: you run across a platform, the door ahead opens, and it slams shut every time you sprint at it. Sliding does not help. The fix from the Steam forum is simply to stand on the platform until the door is fully open, then run.
Where the demo ends
Players report the demo stops around the BDSM club section, after roughly an hour. It covers the prologue and Episode 1 (Saber’s own patch notes refer to lighting fixes “across Prologue and Episode 1”). Saber has not said that demo progress or choices carry over to the full game, so do not replay it hoping to set up an ending.
Puzzles that are not codes
- Looping rooms: a P.T.-style house section repeats until you find a specific item. If the hallway keeps resetting, you missed something on the previous loop. Preview coverage describes it as a search for the right item rather than a hard puzzle.
- Rotating walls: later Labyrinth rooms ask you to use the Genesis Configuration to rotate walls into a path. See the Genesis Configuration guide.
- Leviathan Puzzle: named in the demo patch notes (its shadow rendering was adjusted), so if the shadows looked wrong before September 21, update the demo.
For what the rest of the demo contains and whether it is worth your hour, see the demo guide.
